Jerusalem of Heavens

This Artwork, offered for the Israeli consulate in New York, is about the city of Jerusalem. Hovering at it’s center are the old city walls, built from words taken from the 3rd chapter of Ecclesiastes and translated to multiple languages spoken in Jerusalem. Swaddling the walls, a flock of migrating birds passes through the city, or possibly creating it. The artwork reflects the rich and complex past of Jerusalem, with the uncountable events, upheavals, nations and cultures which crossed it; “Jerusalem of heavens and Jerusalem of earth; and the temporality of us humans in this place.
